Reflexology

reflexology can be traced back to ancient China, greece and Egypt.

the modern concept of reflexology was first studied in the early 1900's when investigating the effects of pressure on certain areas of the body could produce an analgesic effect in corresponding areas. in the 1930's reflexology was further refined and it was realised by using an alternating pressure over certain points would have a therapeutic effect on the corresponding area as well as pain relief.

Reflexology is the study and practices of the working reflexes of the feet and hands by using precise hand and finger techniques. this can bring about responses in corresponding body parts inducing relaxation thereby reducing tension and stress and brings the body back to a natural state of balance.

The reflexology treatment takes approximately one hour. For maximum benefit it would be recommended to have a course of treatments; anything from 6 -12 treatments depending on the individual. After which followed by maintenance when required which could be as little as twice a year.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is both an art and a science of using essential oils in treatment. It is a truly holistic therapy; taking int account the mind, body and spirit of the person seeking help. Literally translated aromatherapy means a curative treatment using a fragrance of subtle vervasise quality.

Think of it as an ancient art in a modern age. Egyptians and many other ancient cultures used natural plant substances in Magical and religious ceremonies as well as medicine and cosmetology.

Aromatherapy is the practice of using 'oils' extracted from aromatic plants to enhance the health and appearance. The oils are extracted from the flowers, leaves, stems, roots and bark. As well as their pleasing aroma essential oils are valued for their potent cosmetic and therapeutic properties. They soothe away tension, improve concentration, help to lift depression, fight infection, speed up the healing process and reduce inflammation.

There are many forms of application and methods of use; inhalations, baths, compresses and creams but the most lasting effect is when the oils are applied to the skin through massage; the oils are highly concentrated substances and must always be diluted in a carrier (vegetable base oil). Due to their small molecular size they are absorbed into the interstitial spaces of the skin and from there they are absorbed into the circulation.

Aromatherapy is perhaps the most luxurious treatment for mind and body.

Crystal Therapy

What is Crystal Therapy?

Crystal therapy is the ancient art of laying-on-of-stones. This therapy has been used by many cultures since time in memorial. Crystal therapy is a holistic therapy( treating the body on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level all together as one) which rebalances the energy flow within and around the body, bringing the self back to a state of equilibrium encouraging the body to self heal.

how does this happen?

Crystal structures emit piezoelectricity (very small electrical impulses or charges). The bodies subtle electromagnetic energy fields (the aura, chakras, and meridians)respond to these impulses. When the correct crystal is selected the energy system is:

Cleansed

Rebalanced

Energised

The treatment

When the body is unwell or out of balance, crystals with their perfect atomic structures give the body electromagnetic patterns to follow or tune into to encourage self healing.

Laying-on-of-stones is a powerful method of cleansing negative energy; residual negative ions are absorbed and rebalanced.

Clearing and balancing the chakras can cause an emotional release which brings about light and healing into all the aural bodies.

Energised programmed and dedicated stones/crystals will move the client’s electromagnetic vibration into alignment with the earth and universal grid. This results in a freeing of chi (life force energy) in the chakras and aura transforming negative energy or dis – ease into health.

The treatment itself may be carried out with the client lying on a treatment couch, lying supported on a covered floor or sitting in a chair. The client will not remove clothing apart from their shoes for comfort. They will be asked to remove watches and jewellery.

Gemstones and crystal will then be placed on and around the client’s body. The treatment can take from 30minutes up to an 1 hour.
